Always Do your Best and Leave the Rest

Why does this happen with me?
What’s my fault?
Why only me?

These are the thoughts that comes to our mind when life does not goes the way we want it to be and our desires are not fulfilled.Very soon the negative thoughts find their way into our mind and we start feeling strucked and stressed. When the things are favourable these feelings seldom occur.

People always feel that life is a game of luck-thousands of people spend money on buying lottery tickets, but only a few are rewarded. Pleasant and unpleasant things happen to all of us in our daily practises and relationships – that’s the nature of life.

But why is it all about luck only?? An infamous dictator, who was instrumental in killing thousands of innocent people believed that “hard luck lines can be changed with a knife’s edge” You’d also often hear people say things like – “यह तो पिछले जन्म के कर्मों का फल हैं (This is a result of what you did in your past life)” and we too give in and believe that what ever is happening is due to destiny and may be the fault is in our stars only ; But we forget what nobleman Cassius says to Brutus in the Act 1,Scene 2 of Shakespeare’s play Julius Caesar – “The fault ,dear Brutus, is not in our stars but in ourselves that we are underlings.”

So here’s something to remember- the future is not in our hands, only god knows about it. Does that mean we keep fretting about what may happen??? No,we should not. Whatever the situation be, we should just do the best that we can and then leave the rest.

This is even well explained in our hindu mythologies,as said in the Bhagavad Gita; कर्म करो, फल की चिंता मत रखो ( Do your duty without thinking about results)

अर्थात-

Another example to this is a very beautiful and profound sanskrit term that is found in the ancient texts, scriptures and philosophy . This word is Vairagya ( वैराग्य) and this word in itself has a deep meaning to offer even in this era. Vairagya in simple sense means deattachment, and we all too need to have a sense of deattachment . Deattachment not from what we are doing{our work or actions} but from the outcome of our actions, which is ultimately not in our hands. There is always a certain way with which things happen and they will take their own time.

So we must focus on what is in our hands or what we can do and that is work & once you have done your 100%; you have given everything that you think you can, without any regrets.Once you have done your best & you know this is the best that I could have done, after that you must be a little deattached from your results because if somehow the results are not in your favour, you must not give up trying for the next time because till when ,if your efforts are 100%, till when will you not succeed.

So for your inner peace,Do your best and Leave the rest. Let this be your inner thought.
